Diet for Clogged Ears

You ears are clogged and you are thinking : maybe this has to do with what I am eating. Is there something I should be eating or should avoid ? I wanted to know the same thing :

  • Drinking warm glasses of water with lemon juice and Manuka honey are a great way of increasing fluid intake as well as providing bioflavinoids and Manuka honey is a natural antibiotic
  • Reduce mucus producing foods such as dairy, wheat and sugar and consider having an allergy test to determine any trigger foods and environmental allergens which may be contributing to mucus build up
  • Increase alkalising foods in the diet such as water, rice, grains, nuts and seeds, plenty of fruits and vegetables, miso soup, green barley powder to reduce inflammation and acidity
  • Increase water intake (at least 2 litres/ day).  Include herbal teas also such as Marshmallow, Echinacea, Ginger, Lemon, Elecampagne, Licorice and Rosehip and Fenugreek
  • Increase sulphur rich foods in your diet such as onions and garlic as these help to break down congestion.  Also increase Chilli, Horseradish and Turmeric as these are also anti-inflammatory in action and will help to break down congestion also
  • Enjoy a vegetable juice each day such as carrot, tomato, celery, ginger and beetroot.  These ingredients are very nourishing and improve nutritional status, alkalising and immunity

These suggestions are for people who have clogged ears due to congestion and fluid buildup behind the ear drum. You have to drain the fluids in the Eustachian tube.

So - drink water. Drink until your pee has no color in it. And since you have to drink water, make herbal teas. I put boiled water on chili powder and add lime. Makes wonders for congestion.

If your congestion is becoming a chronic condition, you should look into allergy conditions, especially dairy and  wheat.

Anyways, i've been sick for eternity already. Since like September, got some crazy foreign angina from a friend who visited from Europe, got over it in a month, then got sick in december because my retarded office is always cold, almost recovered mid-January when one night I got really cold and after that hell started, running nose, crazy coughing, clogged ears. It more or less got better after a couple of weeks, but clogged ears remained. So annoying, I tried every possible thing nothing helped. So one night I went to Chinese restaurant and ordered a large hot & sour soup, which was really hot, my mouth was burning, by the time I finished my meal I was sweateing, nose was running like a river and after a couple of hours my ears were popping and uclogging. Next day I had more of it, and ears finally got perfectly fine, no running nose no congestion, no nothing. Who would have though.
By the way I also have a deviated septum, had my tonsils removed when I was a kid, and lots and lots of illnesses with ears, so I was really surprised that something simple like a hot spicy soup could make the trick.
